Hi! I’m Juan Diego Valencia
I’m a photographer based in Envigado, Colombia.
Photography is how I pay attention to places: its lines, its people, and the small collisions of light and time. I roam cities and towns — from Antioquia’s villages to Florence, Venice and Rome — looking for scenes that are honest, compositional and a little unexpected.
What I photograph
My work lives where street photography meets fine art and architecture. I shoot everyday life, long exposures and quiet city geometry. Black & white is a constant — it lets me distill contrast and form — while my color work leans on filmic palettes inspired by Portra and Fuji C200.
How I work
I mainly shoot JPEG and sometimes raw. I trust in‑camera fujifilm recipes that I’ve developed over time. Equipment-wise I mainly use a Fujifilm X‑T30 II and a Tamron 17–70mm f/2.8: a compact, fast setup that lets me stay agile. I also shoot with a Nikon D3500 (18mm-55mm and a 35mm 1.8 lenses), also a Sony RX100. I favour AF‑C with Wide/Tracking for moving subjects and rapid street work, and I aim to sequence images in a way that reads like a short visual essay.
